“Why are the staff so unfriendly - are they unhappy in their jobs ?”

We have visited this pub three times now - mainly for the garden for the children to enjoy but each time we have eaten or bought drinks the staff have been miserable. No welcome, no smiles, no conversation, no atmosphere - such a shame as it could be a gold mine if they made themselves a bit more welcoming !!... More

I use this pub quite a bit as I'm a real ale drinker. They usually have 3 regular ales, Adnams broadside, southwold and Woodeford werry plus one other that changes. The food is good and in colder months they have a large log fire More

Visually, a step back in time with its original coaching house decor and layout. The food however, is both current and traditional and to die for. We booked Hoxne Swan for a family meal to celebrate my son's 18th Birthday. We felt welcome as soon as we entered the inn, the open fire was going and the mulled wine was gorgeous. The food was divine, and the decor was lovely and homely. Booked a Saturday evening early dinner for a family get together comprising 8 adults plus an 17 month old (4 generations). The staff were attentive and amenable and made us feel welcome. The quality and quantity of food was excelllent. A bonus was the large car park. We will definitely return. More
