I first ate here in 1958, my parents in 1944 when it opened. When I lived in Montreal I ate here at least twice or 3 times a week. The chicken, fries, sauce, and cole slaw are the best in the world. Always perfectly cooked, the ultimate in taste, great value. The restaurant decor has not changed since it opened.... More

Montreal is one of my favorite cities in the world - and I used to like their St Hubert chicken chain. Not any more. Don't be fooled by the appearance of this place - embrace it ! It likely has not changed since its opening : wood-paneling on the walls and faded pictures of Alps all hanging crooked on the... More

Best chicken and poutine ever. Laid back comfortable and awesome service. Will definitely be returning next time I am in Montreal. I lived there for most of my life and was never able to make my way up to this restaurant and I am so happy I finally did.

This is the real old diner, has not changed in ages and i love it! best ever french fries, good chicken, coleslaw, brown sauce and coffee (or chicken soup). The lunch menu is under $10. Service is efficient and speedy. A good experience!

This is a "must eat" place in Montreal. It serves the best BBQ chicken in town. At lunch time a good serving of coleslaw, a chicken breast portion, homemade french-fries, a roll with the best BBQ sauce and a beverage will cost just over $10. The interior décor emulates Swiss alpine chalet and no effort is ever made to change... More

Most savoury chicken in the city, the place is not the most inviting but the food is worth the while

I've been going to Chalet BBQ since I was a kid. In the past 50 years, they still haven't changed their decor, and that's just fine with me, because it brings back so many memories of birthday parties and hockey banquets from year's past. The fries are to die for, the portions are perfectly sized, the prices are reasonable and... More
