Went on a Friday night. To my surprise, we were able to park the car for free on Queen St one minute away from the restaurant. I discovered the restaurant concept (i.e. fixed menu and price) only the morning of the day of our planned dinner. I had reservations about the menu as I don't usually order trout. The menu... More

My wife and 2 friends went to Ruby Watchco for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was packed! I think the allure of Lynn Crawford being there really brings people in the restaurant. Overall the meal had some real highlights and some just ok selections, I am not fond of the 1 type of prie fix menu as... More

Cheap food prepared for people that the owners think don't care or know anything about food. Won't go back and will advise against going ! Gotta do better than that to last.

Visited for the first time with friends right after the May long weekend. It was quite quiet during the early seating but seemed to pick up a little steam as the evening progressed. Martini's were impeccable! Other cocktails were as tasty as they were quirky -- horseradish in a cocktail, wow but surprisingly good! I usually enjoy a little more... More

Great ambiance & good food...No choices, everyone eats the same thing, just like home at mom's. Before you go, check out the menu online so you are not disappointed. We started with couple cocktails - L.A. Express and 3G's...both fantastic drinks and worth the $14 price. Chef Crawford was on-site, and we had her Southern Fried Chicken and Cheese Macaroni.... Two friends and I enjoyed an exceptional dinner at Ruby Watchco. The 4 course meal was excellent and the service was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The mixed greens salad with crispy pancetta and parmesan aioli was one of the best I have ever had. The lamb entree was perfectly cooked and the variety of vegetables was wonderfully prepared.... A poor experience. The food is clearly cooked to a cheap price point and is no better than what one could cook at home. Although for $49 it might be ok, there is nothing to recommend it. Drinks are overpriced. Service is adequate. This is another example of a 'scene' place in Toronto. When one spends $250 there is an... More

Everyone eats the same and the seatings are staggered so you get great service. Last night was a riff on the BLT with ling cod, then a wonderful rabbit rillett, followed by grilled flank steak and perfectly cooked, very interesting vegetable, cheese with honey and salted grapes - I asked for the recipe and chef Lynn shared it with enthusiasm... So, now we have a new favourite restaurant in Toronto. I met Chef Crawford when she was filming an episode of Pitchin' In in our little town and she encouraged me to come here and try her food. It is wonderful. We had five courses with an optional rabbit terrine, along with the recommended wine pairings. The food was local... More

Came here for hubby's birthday. Feel silly writing an excellent review for this restaurant when there are already so many but I do recommend trying this restaurant. Make a reservation and they will also confirm if your group has any food allergies or restrictions because it is a set meal for $49; no menu to select from. The tastes and... More
