Just needed a glass of wine before we shopped and glad we did. SErvice was great and we ended up getting some small plates to munch on and the food was excellent.
Went with a party of 10 from work for dinner. We were seated a long table with chairs on one side and a big banquet bench on the other side. It was a very tight squeeze for us as diners to get to the bench seating. Let 's just say you'd want to go to the washroom before you sat... More
Ciao Italian restaurant, 133 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto, M5R 1C4, 416 925-2143 Last night we were invited by our good friends for the yearly celebration of our first meeting 43 years ago. We do that every year on December 1, and our friends - generously - always pick an especially nice restaurant for this occasion. They found Ciao in the beautiful... More
I dropped in a week before to check the place and the menu, and was very impressed. Invited our best friends for a celebratory dinner. What a mistake! Menu items we chose were not available. Our second choices were horrible; poor quality, bad preparation and incredibly poor service, but shamelessly and outrageously expensive! An absolute rip-off! An expensive steak was... More
We went there on November 23 it was a first date. First impression great ambiance! We asked for a table for two and was given a table that did not have much room to sit, right near a back stairway where the servers walk to and from the kitchen. We look over and there were 3-4 other empty tables and... More
We were 6 people expecting to have a great time. We asked 3 plates of pasta , the salmon and the veal milanese. The 3 bolognesa pasta were complete overcooked (i've never tried a bolognesa like that before), and the veal milanese... What can i say? Shame on the chef. Im italian, my friends there were italian too.. That milanese... More
I rarely, almost never, give a 5 out of 5 rating as I like to give the business something to work for. So a 4 out of 5 is pretty good in my books. Eleven of us got together to celebrate a friends birthday at Caio Wine bar. This was my first visit there and even my first time to... More
The atmosphere is nice, but we thought the food was just okay. Our pasta was a little over cooked and in general the flavors were bland and just lacked something. And for a wine bar, I thought the wine by the glass menu was boring and over priced.
Impressed by the decor when I walked in.Unique. I ordered risotto(seafood) and I asked for a drop of truffle oil .Server had no idea what that is and he called the manager(i believe). He confirmed that they do have truffle oil.Whell ,that was never added to my risotto ,never mind the truffle oil,the rice was only 50% cooked, same with my colleague's... Just like Mamma cooks. A great selection of italian foods from the kitchen. It has a great atmosphere and the service is friendly and casual. It provides good value for money and a great variety and array of foods for any palate. Tables are well spaced and it is not too loud... you can actually hear the other people at... More
