Can't go to Ottawa and not try beaver tails. Basically, overpriced slab of dough that is deep fried and garnished with pretty much anything you like. In the winter there are installations all over the canal so you can stop for a snack during your skate.

Put this on your list and don't miss it! The beaver tails are sooooooooooo good!! We had the cinnamon and sugar and the kids enjoyed the oreo covered beaver tail. Both were great! And very reasonably priced! No long lines either. Fast service!

The booth was busy on a weekday evening, but the beaver tail was overly oily (dripped when we folded the beaver tail!). I've had them before in Ottawa and Vancouver, and this was the oiliest I have ever experienced. Maybe just a bad night?

Even though this goes against all my clean eating beliefs, it just has to be done ! I haven't had a Beavertail since skating on the Rideau Canal years ago when my kids were smaller. I've had BeaverTails elsewhere (Toronto Zoo) but they are the BEST here and they offer many other choices.
