I heard the old owner is no longer there and a new one is in his place. So happy to know that everything is the same. The food is great, if not better and the beer is awesome. Thank goodness it went to someone who can carry on a good name. Amazing food, cant wait to have an excuse to... More

Call first. I understand they are thinking of selling. This food is superior. My only excellent rating so far. I married into a German family and the schnitzels and red cabbage are better than home-made. Pricy buffet, but worth a periodic visit. Ambiance is excellent, and perhaps you will be treated to the accordion player!

If you want a good German meal this is the place to go. The food is excellent and you do not leave the restaurant hungry. When the restaurant was up for sale I am so glad that someone took it over. It would be criminal for this restaurant to close

Three business associates went to dinner and had a great experience. The food was both flavorful and abundant including a bratwurst appitizer, goulash, and veal schnitzel. Red cabbage with the schnitzel, a side of spaetzel, and I was full. Nice wine and beer selection to go with the food and friendly service made it a wonderful evening. Go and enjoy.

We went for supper there this evening. Even though they are no longer offering the gluten free bread, our waiter was very well informed about what would be gluten free. The food was exceptionally flavourful and abundant

I went to Gasthaus Gutenberger for my birthday and we had quite a good time. First of all the beer was amazing, came in these massive glasses that my party all chugged down. My one complaint was really that you would think in a German restaraunt with all that beer it would be a good time for all, but we... More

Most of us had the Schnitzel, after all it is a German Restaurant. I have had better but this Schnitzel was very good. It could have been pounded just a little bit thinner. A bit too much red cabbage with the meal but you don't have to eat everything on your plate. The wine list was not extensive but on... More

Our family has frequented this establishment quite a few times over the past couple years. Lately I have been increasingly disappointed with the quality of the food. The steaks seem to be of a lower quality then I remember but seem to be more costly. As well the establishment itself appears to have not been cleaned since my first visit... More

This classy place has a very Continental atmosphere. They feature German specialties, and any that I've tried are very good. They also offer some more conventional fare for those who wish it. One stand-out side dish that's offered with almost every meal is sweet and sour red cabbage. This is delicious. I especially like it with the schnitzel and noodles.
