This is a place we go to 3-4 times a year, especially when the weather is nice. Inside is spacious and the staff is friendly. The prices aren't great but the sangria makes up for it.

Impressed with the food and service. Simple, casual and local menu. We had the rubs, caesar salad with shrimp and the tuna. Try the Burrowing Owl Syrah, delicious.
We had lunch here recently and ordered the 3 course lunch special for $17.99.
We started with an Italian "zuppa" with tomatoes and chickpeas (delicious) and for the entree selected the Hoisin and Guiness beef shortribs with potato cake with cheddar, and nice crispy, not overdone veggies - it was amazing, and a large serving! Really a delicious dish.

We were a group of about 20 family members with NO reservation. They were very helpful and had us a LARGE table withing 20 min. Food was great as well the service.
Went on two occasions, service was terrible, food just adequate, overly pricey and you had to pay extra for bread while you waited an inordinate time for your meal.
I have been eating here for abt. 15 years. Staff is very attentive, place is clean and organized. The Tuscan dinners are a great deal, and above expectations. I have been there for many types of visits , dinners. Funerals, romantic, spec. occasion, business, family and have never been disappointed Worth the experience.

A chefs creation appetizer, choice of soup or one of several salads, choice of main and choice of two desserts. The dining room is noisy...

We have dined at Med Grill Royal Oak several times and have have always enjoyed the food and service. Their prices are reasonable and quantities are plentiful.
Our meal was very good the service was more than a little distracted, we would have loved to have seen our server again after recieving our entree to get some water, which we had already asked for earlier and was forgotten. Getting her attention was not possible since she never looked around for eye contact when serving people around us,...

Just down the road from the HoJo in Saanich, this quaint little restaurant is a hidden jem. Impeccable service, and a fantastic variety of food choices, made this dinner stop one of the highlights of our stay. Be sure to check it out and Bon Apetit!
