Description: An award winning restaurant set in busy downtown overlooking the Inner Harbour. With patio views, steps away from seaplanes and ferries, it’s a great place to dine! The cozy interior, featuring local artwork, sets the tone for the food and wine. At the centre of this rustic charm is a bountiful oyster bar, Victoria’s only true oyster bar. Nautical Nellies offers a large selection of fresh, local, OceanWise sustainable seafood and well aged, hand cut Certified Angus Beef steaks. The menu is a mix of classic and modern styles with distinct West Coast influences. Start your meal with Jonah Crab Cakes. (Rumoured to be the best in the city!) or the succulent albacore tuna tataki. For lunch choose one of their handcrafted sandwiches featuring Dungeness crab or Atlantic lobster. At dinner, the Hunter Sirloin or a more traditional surf and turf. The wine list has won several Playhouse International Wine Festival Awards and Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2008- 2012

The $1 oysters 4-6pm caught our eye and what started out as an appetizer and drinks stop turned into a fabulous meal. We sat at the oyster bar and watched an extremely well orchestrated team turn out platters of generously portioned and artistically presented food. We finally gave in and split a steak and giant prawns which was perfectly done... More

It was great - we had the opportunity to visit Nautical Nellies twice within a few days. The servers both times were very attentive. The atmosphere was fun. The seafood was excellent and fresh. Being able to have fresh oysters for $1 each before 6pm was great. The seafood trio- prawns , halibut and salmon, tried by two of our... More

We just happened to stumble on this place. All other resturants were full for lunch, but for whatever reason we were able to get seated here. Usually this can be a bad sign, but for us it worked out well. Good food and ever better service. Very clean. This place is worth a try for lunch and from what I... More

Nautical Nellie is the type of restaurant you wish you could find any time you go some place new, especially at the end of a long hot day and walk. The menu is inviting with interesting combinations of fish items. I had the red tiger roll, which was a bit different from the usual sushi rolls, with a hint of... More

Renown for their wine selection we had 4 tastings before we decided on a sauvignon blanc (New Zealand Gieves). Could be more wines offered by the glass. Wines were pricy but overall very satisfied, good end to a day at Buchart Gardens. My mom and I shared the seafood trio, very plentiful and tastey.Hint: squeeze the lemon on the Halibut... More

The crab cakes are amazing. The seafood platter was beyond delicious! The lobster roll.....crazy good. The service (especially our waiter Pete!) is exceptional. The only down side is it is VERY pricey. That being said, if you watch for groupons it can be affordable. It would be great if they offered some deals to locals in the winter months!!

Maybe it was just an off day, but we went here on a recommendation that it was a good place for seafood. Our waiter was great--very personable and helpful with suggestions. The food, however, was just OK. If I was in the neighbourhood, I might stop in again, but I doubt that I'd make an effort to return.

The food was wonderful especially the mini lobster and avacado tacos, oysters, and crab cakes. The location is great and close to the inner harbor.

this restaurant makes great steak! especially with the bourbon cream sauce. The ambiance could be improved, but definitely a nice alternative to the keg!

On a sunny day head here. The menu offers something for everyone and the food is of good quality. It is a great spot to sit at a table on the deck and watch the horse-drawn carriages roll by. The crab cake sliders were tasty and good along with the fresh cut fries. The cake with raspberry sauce was also... More
