Although the menu is small the tastes on the plate are large and eclectic. It is a delight to find a restaurant where the different food groups on my platedo not all taste the same and are very pleasing to the palate.

I have eaten twice at this restaurant in the past month...once with my sister and once with my husband and another couple. The service is great. The restaurant is quite pleasant. The food is mostly excellent. The only issue we had on both occasions was with the seafood. My sister and I both ordered the salmon. We were informed it...

We've been here a few times now, and every single time it gets better and better. The food is always excellent - I have never had better cheesecake. Ever. The meals are hearty and satisfying. The wine list is small, but the good representation of local products makes it appealing and adequate despite its size. The amuse bouche before the...

Liked the place due to its small size and quiet ambience. Lacks a bit in decorating but otherwise comfortable. Service was good, wine selction adequate and when asked for a recommendation between two choices choices we were happy with the result (Line 39 Cab for $38). The amuse bouche was a nice touch but deep fried cheese a bit of...

The Nest is a small gem in the old downtown of Nanaimo. It serves delightful meals, wine and coffee to those who seek it out and is well worth visiting not only for the meals but also for the service.. In fact, it is one the best if not the best restaurants in Nanaimo

In sum, the chef, has original variations of classic foods. I think the menu change every few months. For appy, we had the ninja scrimp, great and interesting sauces. I had the side of duck - great classic french style with interesting potatoes. Cannot wait to return.
Shared a number of items.. Very good flavors. Top of list was the duo of prawns but the smoked paprika prawns were also very good. The amuse bouch was a little cheese bisquit and we all wanted to order a basket full.
Not usually a desert person but as we were all sharing we tried all of them and everyone...

Quaint little restaurant with a ton of character. Our server Alisha, i hope i spelled her name right, was extremely accommodating right down to our wine selection. She found a zinfandel for me that was not even listed. Her recommendations for the appetizers was spot on. I have never had duck Confit before and i am glad she was such...
