The food in this bistro-style restaurant is fantastic. The French chef is first rate and has won many prestigious awards from France. My only suggestions would be to redesign the menu, as it does not do justice to his food, and to dim the lights somewhat. If you enjoy fine French cuisine, le Cafe Francais is not to be missed.

If you are looking for somewhere in Nanaimo with true French flavour and ambiance, visit le Cafe Francaise. Giles and his staff give a warm and old-fashioned welcome. A gem in downtown Nanaimo.

We went for lunch at Le Cafe Francais and enjoyed a delicious ham and cheese crepe with tasty small fries/dijon mustard and salad. My friend had a seafood crepe. Every bite was wonderful. Great cafe! Make a reservation! Cheers Janet

Thank you for the lovely crepes. Sadly we've gone wheat free now, so won't be tasting them again :-( Great service, the chef even came out to meet us and check we were satisfied with our meal. Lovely atmosphere. Perfectly clean. Great music and decor.

We had lunch here and found it quite delightful. Very a french menu. We both had Coquilles Au mare. Great sauce. The scallops and fish were excellent.
