Description: This 100 year old heritage building was the boyhood home of George F.G. Stanley, designer of our Canadian flag. It is a very casual eclectic restaurant where the food is excellent but not pretentious and their standards are extremely high. When you enter the upstairs dining room you can see why it has won awards for best 'romantic' and best 'first date', as well as 'best fondue experience'. This is an establishment, tucked into the heart of urban Calgary, where you can enjoy an intimate meal, just kick back in the comfortable bar, or spend the day on one of the coziest and sunniest patios in town.

We had dinner at Laurier Lounge to celebrate one year until our wedding day (our "future anniversary" dinner!) I had the wild mushroom risotto and my fiancee had the bouillabaise and they were both incredible dishes. My risotto had pureed asparagus and almonds which made for a very unique blend of flavors. The bouillabaise had a delicious variety of seafood,... More

We went to the restaurant for 6:30 pm reservations. The restaurant has a very charming atmosphere with friendly staff. We ordered the Beef experience for two. I had two imported premium beers and the girlfriend had a mimosa. The starter was cheese fondue. I found it to be absolutely delicious as it was a very unique tasting cheese. My girlfriend... More

I love Beef Bourgignon and I had the best at Laurier. AMAZING! Also Cheese Truffle fondue and Onion Tarte are my favorites. I will definitely go back there again!

We took my Mom out for Mother’s Day to Laurier Lounge. The brunch was destined (inadvertently) to be a success as she realized that in a prior life, it had been the boarding house that she stayed in when she first came to Calgary 60-odd years ago. She was charmed that it was still there and so were we. The... More

Authentic and unpretentious, great value... I had the whole grilled sea bass with Provençal Vegetables and it was to die for as I was living in the south of France for 2 years, this brings me back to that flavour and time.

The brunch here is AMAZING! You have to go with the Brunch platter- Eggs benedict, strawberry crepes, bacon, really good potato wedges, croissant, fresh fruit... all for $14! AND, on saturdays theres also $5 Mimosas! Highly recommend trying it, although it is a LOT of food. Also, good to note that you can get the standard baguette on the menu... More

the ambiance of the Laurier Lounge is very relaxing upstairs but even in the main floor pub. It is a wonderful place to take a date, menu is interesting, service is good and location is in agood spot just off downtown. Will go back for sure.

Went to LL after not visiting for a while. New menu which I loved although it wasn't busy so they were able to make curried mussels for my wife. The food was great.
