A fabulous restaurant hidden away in a tiny town, just 20 minutes from Merida. The drinks, the food all were wonderful and so was all of the staff. Pricey, but generous portions and well worth the money. Highly recommend.

We had dinner here in March 2013 before going to see the International String Quartet. My husband ordered the Tuna and it was done perfectly but and this is a big but the sides were cold. This is not acceptable in a high end restaurant. I ordered the pasta with shrimp. The smokey sauce, was too over powering. My friend... More

We have eaten at this restaurant more times than I can count. Whenever we have a special occasion that we want to celebrate or we want a romantic dinner, this is our first choice. Its also great for dinner with friends, Sunday brunch or just a quiet lunch to get away from everything. The restaurant is beautiful... set inside the... More

While visiting the Palacio de Gobierno, we met a couple from Arizona who told us about Hacienda Xcanatún; so we asked our taxi driver to stop there on the way to Progreso from Mérida. He was a delightful young man, a bit nervous about eating in such a luxurious place; so we just had salads and a soft drink. It... More

Casa de Piedra @ Xcanatun has always been one of my favorite, special places near Merida! The hacienda was completely remodeled about 10-years ago. It is fabulous! It is also close to Merida and an easy drive. We went to The International String Quartet concert and then stayed for dinner. The concert was excellent and dinner was scrumptious! I started... More

Chef deserves praise for 3 separate seafood dishes we had. Tuna tartare in an oriental style, mero (grouper) in a light panko coating, and cobia with a pork crackling coat. The complements to each of these were even more intriquing. Atmosphere is quiet, relaxing, and historical. Price is very, very reasonable. Foodies will be delighted.

We had a chance to host a dinner for several friends last week at Xcanatun, where we hadn't dined for several years. The menu had been updated and a number of dishes added. It's a very interesting combination of Mexican gourmet and international fusion. Everyone was pleased with their choices, from fish to pork to steaks. Service was excellent as... More

We have had both breakfast and lunch at Hacienda Xcanatun, and both were terrific. The lunch was especially good, with everyone loving their choices of soups (try the plantain/curry/lime if it's offered), main dishes, and the outstanding desserts. Our favorite desserts were the key lime pie (best we've had) and the flan with coconut. We enjoy eating outside on the... More

This restaurant has it all: beautiful ambience, extensive menu, and creative preparations. We've dined here many times and some of our favorites are cream of poblano soup (served over a hunk of bleu cheese), ahi tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes, and the house beet salad. All delicious!

This is a beautiful restaurant in a very relaxing and lush setting. Service is great and the food is delicious. You must order the poblano soup, it has blue cheese along with the poblano, it is mild not hot. Watch out at dusk if sitting outside you will encounter mosquitoes. The main courses were not as good as the soup... More
