Small store off Hidalgo, run by an Italian ex-pat. He makes his own gelato, and it's really yum. The sherberts are really flavorful and fresh, the mango and the strawberry especially so.

Love their blackberry gelato. My friends go there every day and love the chocolate and all the different gelato's they have I always recommend it
This wonderful homemade gelato has been our dessert for years. Many ice cream/gelato stores have cropped lately, but none can compare to this gelato. The proprietor is from Italy, so it's genuine. He is friendly and SO accommodating! His tiramisu is to die for. It's made in a glass dish and he even let me return the dish the next...

Loved the gelato. Sometimes the wife made homemade pastries that were excellent. Went there everynight for dessert. The wife loved our 2 year old granddaughter.
We have been frequenting this little shop of off Hildalgo Street for years. The owner is a friendly man who makes awesome gelato himself! This year there a quite a few new shops on Hildago Street but do not be confused. His is the best! Take a couple steps off Hildago Street and you will find what you have been...

I am not a fan of ice cream or gellato but my daughter convinced me to have some after dinner and I really enjoyed it here. Worth the stop.
Was a great treat on a hot day in down town isla. Good favors to choose from.

But there's another reason you should go here, The proprietors make and sell lasagna bolognese and canneloni (80 pesos each) that is the best I have ever had. No joke, amigos y...

This is the real stuff. Do not go to the other places-- just go straight here! Real Italians, real home made, very friendly.
I take back my earlier comment - eh, review - on Trip Advisor and another gelateria that any and all are just average. Gelateria Montebianco (even though we've passed it numerous times) is tucked away quietly on Ave. Matamoros and is, in this not-so-humble reviewers opinion, the best I've found and definitely worth a trip. Molto bene!
