While the menu was excellent - the crab tacos aren't to be missed! - the entertainment was over the top. If it's the only coffee that you have all week, you really must order the Mayan Coffee at La Habichuela - I don't drink coffee but all of those who did said it was wonderfule! The wait staff put on... More

Just got back from Cancun and made sure we went to La Habichuela- downtown. This restaraunt was absolutely perfect for my sister in laws birthday celebration. The service and attention to detail were amazing. From the time we sat down we felt we were part of the family, every one that waited on us, 3 people at least, made us... More

When my husband and I are in Cancun, we ALWAYS include an evening at La Habichuela. We prefer the restaurant location in Downtown Cancun as opposed to the Hotel Zone location. Why? Because the Hotel Zone location does not offer Cocobichuela! This dish is the signature item of the restaurant and we have it every year! This is a fish... More

I've read a lot about this place and went to see it. The surrounding hood is very poor, watch for your car. It's quite far from zona hoteliera, but i thought the food will be worth it. Not at all! After we were seated, it took them 15 minutes to bring the menus and the waitings between each meal was... More

We've been going to La Habichuela for about 15 years. The garden remains one of the prettiest outdoor eating venues you're likely to find. The staff are very professional and always treat my wife and our guests with the utmost courtesy and impeccable service. We spent two weeks in Cancun the end of April, beginning of May. During that time,... More

Service: Very attentive, well mannered and all-round excellent. Cocktails: GREAT! Interior: Well, we sat in the exterior, which was a nice garden/patio, slightly tacky "Faux Mayan" adornments were entertaining. Food: Generally good. We had the ceviche which was excellent, followed by a whole Sea Bream with garlic butter and the coconut shrimp. Sadly, the fish was overcooked and so too... More

My wife and I made reservations at La Habichuela for our anniversary. We have other favorite places in downtown Cancun, so this was our first visit. The restaurant was easy to find, the atmosphere was romantic and dramatic, The service was exceptional. The menu is extensive. We tried the soups, an appetizer and both had a featured entree. Everything was... More

The food was yummy, the way they presented it was unique and a delightful experience. The staff members are very humble and the service was good as well. I would recommend everyone visiting Cancun to definitely try this place and especially their 'Mayan Coffee'. Loved the overall experience and I will visit again for sure. More

This is a long time favorite of us locals. The service and atmosphere are consistently good, and the food is to die for. Try the lobster bisque. More
