I don't know if there was a change of owners/managers We wen't for coffee and a light sweet snack, coffee was just o.k. We had: German cake and fruit salad. Nothing special and maybe we were just out of luck but the fruit was from a can. (tasted off)

This looks like a fun little snack shop two blocks south of the SE corner of the Square, but Google Earth's "street view" photo-car drove by when the address was a Painter's Art Supply outlet. The recent reviews have us intrigued for our Oaxaca trip

food was good, waiter was attentive. My only complaint no chicken or pork on the menu. I had a salad and my husband had the fish of the day. Both were very good.

The place is a hole in the wall with three rustic tables and very unconfortabe stools. We came here because of the raving reviews in Tripadvisor which in my opinion are not justified under any circumstances. We had a very inexpensive breakfast about six dollars for two people with juice, coffee and eggs which was edible but far from "extraordinary".... More

We were there a year ago for a light snack, and now back for the ful meal deal and it was excellent on all counts. Geat service, well prepared soups for the guys, camaron tacos for the girls and we were all in the mood for beef, so 3 of us had a steak with parsley sauce (i had mine... More

On the wall of The Giggling Marlin, a Cabos gringo bar, a sign reads "If we do not meet your expectations. . .please lower your expectations!" For this shop I would say "adjust" your expectations. If you are expecting a modern coffee shop, with Italian-jargoned hipster barristas, you will be disappointed. If you would enjoy a small, bright, welcoming, family-run... More

I had to write something, because I think it's a shame this is showing up as a top place to eat in Oaxaca, which is world famous for its food. Cafeteria La Principal is a four table breakfast and sandwich shop. It's close to where I'm staying, so I had lunch there the other day. The bread was, yes, hot... More

I was so happy to see this cafe open. Oaxaca is lacking food options that are non-Oaxacan and Anna & Paula brought a touch of that to the centro area. I highly recommend their pollo baguette or the brie baguette. The fresh agua de guayaba is a favorite too. The homemade cookies and cakes are great topped off with an... More

We ate at Cafeteria La Principal at least 4 times in our 10 day visit to Oaxaca. Our children ages 9 and 11 could have eaten here every day. The tuna fish sandwich is outstanding - we all loved it. I try not to eat wheat and both Anna and Paula were very accomodating of my requests and made me... More

Living in Oaxaca I was excited to see Ana and Paula coming to town and opening up this very charming cafe with such excellent sandwiches. Try the brie with sauteed onions, it's highly recommendable! Also, Paula has introduced her home cooked meal which she makes for herself and her son the evening before and then prepares again for you for... More
