Went here based on the reviews fromTrip Advisor, not terribly generous with the mediocre food with a lousy atmosphere. The gardens are nice though with a great looking camp site.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your evening with us. It was a wet and blustery evening and this may have dampened the atmosphere in the conservatory. Customers choose to dine in the conservatory because of the spectacular views it offers of rolling Shropshire hills. We are a small family run business and...

Ordered three burgers and a steak. The steak was thin, overcooked and poor value at £17. The burgers tasted odd, slightly indistinguishable. Visited on a wet Friday in May, not too busy do perhaps we got third best?
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your meal with us. The Sirloin steak was thinner than we usually serve and this may have resulted in your steak being slightly overcooked after it had rested. We would have happily cooked another steak for you had you brought this to our attention on the evening....

My partner and I ate here last Friday and enjoyed a delicious meal in lovely surroundings. The pub itself is full of character. It even has a huge apple press in the middle of the dining room, a remnant from its farmhouse origins. It has a lovely dining conservatory which has fantastic countryside views.
The staff were all attentive and...

Stayed for two nights at the beginning of March. Lovely room, top notch food and excellent hosts. What more can I say - going back again in June!
Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Baron and can't wait to go back!
The baron is in a fantastic location with plenty of walks starting from here ( walks available from the baron's website which we found very useful)
We stayed in room 5 which was fantastic and very cosy! Lovely bed and we liked having the...

We have just returned from a very enjoyable two night break at the Baron.
The accommodation, food and local "real ales" are very good indeed, plus "mine hosts" Debra and Phil are friendly real people.
Bucknell is an idyllic, peaceful English village, and when walking it the residents make time to stop and have a chat.
We hope to visit...

This pub is in a great location but off the beaten track. We were a group of four and three of us really enjoyed our meal. However my husband did not enjoy his pork meal so much, I think he probably made the wrong choice! The standard generally seemed to be very high, lovely well watered plants, nice lawn, very...

Restaurant food and service was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and if we found ourselves in that area again we would...

We went for a midweek meal whilst staying in the area - the menu is fine, the food is cooked to order and tasted great, the service was good, the atmosphere was pleasant - we would go again when we are back in the area - what more can you say ?
We had a lovely meal here this weekend and I would highly recomend it!
This is not a gormet pub, which is lovely.
If you want to mix and match the items on the menu, you could as it is cooked fresh to eat!
There was a lady from another party who was unhappy with her meal, but ot was...
