The lodge at Bryce Canyon is very old and authentic, but best of all it's a great place to get a good meal after hiking the trails.

The food here was excellent. The portions were huge so we shared an appetizer and entrée and got our own salad. The lodge is so rustic that you can't help but feel like you are in the past.
I had the bison stew with root vegetables. The only "root" vegetable was potato and the bison must have been elderly. I have to admit my wife fared better with an appetizer and salad but still I will never go back. In addition , the chairs are unbelievably uncomfortable and after a day of hiking who needs that. Also way...

We stayed at Ruby's Inn in Bryce City, but made our way to the lodge our last night for some good food. Both our dishes were delicious and the wines we ordered were fabulous. The best was the staff. They were all incredibly friendly and interesting. We enjoyed the evening.
Our dinner at the lodge was better than expected. In a restaurant in most any city it would probably been around a 3 to 3.5 star experience, but your options in this area are limited if you don't want to drive a long way. Our appetizer of jalepeno ragoons was great - kind of like a popper, but add bacon....

You do not expect great food in a National Park. You expect the embience of a great lodge. You get that at Bryce lodge. The food is good. My short ribs were good but a little dry. The crab cakes were very good. My wife's shrimp pasta was a mountain of pasta with only 6 shrimps. Her's had too much...

The lodge food and service exceeds most national park restaurants; a good selection of entrees and wines.
Almost total bust the chef must know places are limited. We sampled the Utah trout which was fishy and rib steak which was tasteless. Chef needs a lesson, good atmosphere and the goat cheese beer salad was tasty otherwise what a waste of money
OK I don't eat meat but that's no reason to punish me. There were 2 or 3 vegetarian choices and I chose the vernal vegetarian which was a mistake. It consisted of half of a large onion which was uncooked, a few warmed up unseasoned tomatoes, some semi raw seared courgette and some other things I've happily forgotten. The rice...

there's nothing special about dining here, and prepare to wait as you can't make reservations. The lodge is on the National Historic Registry so it's nice and rustic, but the dining experience isn't anything special. I had the short ribs, which were good and tender having been cooked for 6 hours, but they didn't put much of the acclaimed drippings...
