Big, juicy callops in sweet chilli sauce . . . divine. The starter was so filling I struggled (but managed) the main course. The food is delicious and they always have a good selection of beers and ciders.

A lovely pub very friendly with excellent food nice to see that they welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes although i could see this being a bit of a problem if you were allergic or scared of them.
We ate at this pub two nights in a row, whilst staying at a lovely B&B just down the road called Amy Cottage. The pub was superb fine real ales and a permanent cider festival with 19 different ciders on tap! The food was delicious - huge portions, great value for money, quick service & a friendly atmosphere. Excellent Food from a wide range just about something for everyone with a warm welcome to all and dogs are also welcome and permanent Cider Festival
This is the slogan the pub uses and it's soooooo true. We took our three dogs in with us to eat and they were more than welcome. Food is excellent, staff are friendly and great selection of cider.
It's every man for themselves at The Castle Inn with no booking system and very peculiar ordering system where you have to sign the order ticket?!
I've got to say this is one of the worst meals I've ever had and it is insanely overpriced. There is no love in the menu or the food itself for example a chicken...

Staying in Lulworth, my husband and I went in for an evening meal. I had the fish pie, which was fine- nothing special but completely overpriced at nearly 14GBP. We have visited this pub before for our evening meal. The pub is nice and friendly, they also allow dogs which have always been very well behaved and adds to the family atmosphere. The pub is always full with tourists and locals. The food is plentiful and tasty with nice local beers, well worth the money.
Popped in to have a drink and check out the menu for a meal. The menu had many standard pub dishes but at the prices charged did not appeal. The pub was extremely cold as well so we decided to wander towards the harbour and discovered The Dandelion - what a great find!
This is a real local pub, focused on serving a range of quality real ales and ciders, which happily washed down our dinner. The Inn's special Mexican chip butty is highly recommended!
