I live in Almondsbury and have eaten in the Bowl Inn many times . 18 months ago the Bowl was more than very good , however I visited last week to see if there had been any improvement since my last few visit s ( that have not been good ) and sorry to say i will not be wasting... More

We made a last minute booking for Sunday lunch but the restaurant was half-empty anyway which was a little worrying. However the food was very nice and tasty though, to me, a little light in the portion department. I'm not greedy but Sunday lunch is not fine dining so a few more of the delicious roast potatoes would have been... More

This restaurant is pretty much what you would expect these days of an establishment like this. there is a varied menu and the food is tasty. Nothing exceptional, just good eating. The staff are for the most part friendly and helpful. There are a number of good real ales available, including local ones. If you want a decent meal, without... More

I was on a long journey from London to Fishguard, tired and getting late I booked here from a nearby services as its just off the m4 and m5. Great setting, thatched pub beside church (who's bells were peeling as I arrived at 8.30pm) Short staffed I eventually was booked in and found my room, clear and perfectly nice. I... More

We have been meeting friends here for years - a halfway house - and the food has always been better than average pub food - but last night it was bad. I had ordered battered cod and received the soggiest piece of fish I've had in a long time. My friends was no better. My husband's burger was dry and... More

We chose this pub as a place to stop for a light lunch during our trip to South Wales. It was not overly busy and we found a nice table by the fire. There was a nice selection of local beers, and the food menu looked varied and reasonably priced. I decided on a smoked fish and cockle chowder, and... More

We've eaten several times at the Bowl Inn and have always had a lovely lunch - certainly beats over-priced fast food at a service station! The pub is literally 5 minutes from the M5 at junction 16 but it's in a peaceful village location. The food, real ale and atmosphere are all lovely and we'll be stopping there again next... More

Whilst we have eaten in the pub a few times and found the food to be nice, we more tend to go for a drink where we can sit outside in the sun and take in the lovely village setting. Staff are friendly without being over friendly. Good selection of wines, beers and cider.

This was our first visitt to The Bowl and we were not disappointed. On the contrary, it was really good. Friendly, efficient service and very good food; (2 of us had Salmon & 2 of us had Belly Pork); plentiful portions of well cooked & well presented dishes. Good choice of beers too. Wellimpressed and would certainly visit again and... More
