This place was not what I expected - very pricey for the quality of service and food they provide. Wine list was a big disappointment - no Old World on the list, really?

Honestly, my review of the Oak Door is based on arriving there after being in other bars... so... I know I enjoyed it, but I can't quite describe it in detail. They've got a nice atmosphere going, it's attached to Roppongi Hills and the Grand Hyatt, so it's got some convenience going for it. Drinks tasted fine... I think they...

This was the second time I have eaten at the Oak Door.
I took my partner for her birthday and traveled from London for the day just to eat here again.
I love the Kobe beef and there is a great wine list.
I love the glass meat fridge on show and the fact you can watch the chefs cooking....

After living in Tokyo for a year, I booked a table here for some western style food. Checked the menu before hand and found that there was a good selection of Australian wine available by the glass and impressive menu.
Arrived and was seated without any fuss. Then find that they are having a "California Wine" event of some sort...

Basically, a fabulous steak restaurant with great ambient. However, the fun rather comes at the bar on Thursdays and Fridays, especially after 11pm, crowded with the hotel guests, near-by expats, high profile boozers, etc. Strongly recommend you if you like to socialize with someone like you.
Environment is really nice; staff very fast; food selection good. The value was surprising. We ate there twice and both were times were excellent.
Hip, yet mature crowd. DJ music on select nights. Great drinks and food, albeit a bit pricey. Weekday nights get busy so go early for a place to sit or be at the bar without waiting.
Staying in the Hyatt I had the chance to go to the oak Door many times. Food was amaizing but pricey and the service was ok and not amaizing. Kobe beef was out each time but no problem, because is hugely expensive. Amaizing wines at reasonable prices. If weather permits outdoor seating is great, bamboos and the hugely tall Mori...
