The hotel is located on a mountain side overlooking the Atlantic and provided spectacular views from almost any vantage point. Check in was a breeze. A couple of minor glitches with the room were attended to swiftly and efficiently. We had a king-bed double room on the second (top) floor of the hotel, with a balcony and a gorgeous view over the gardens and hillside out to the ocean. We were met by our resort sponsored transport van at the airport in Puerta Plata. The driver was professional, and delivered us safely and efficiently to the resort in about 90 mi..."nutes. We were greeted like old friends by various members of the staff, including Patricia, the amazing manager of the resort. We found our room immaculately prepared, with particular attention to cleanliness and added details such as local flowers in the room and bath just for our arrival. Meals are served in both the upper dining area for breakfast and dinner, and the lower tiki bar for lunch. The variety of food, while not high gourmet, is a nice selection of Dominican offerings as well as more traditional American fare.
