However, one of us having arthritic knees, we found that walking from your room to the restaurant was probably no further than other sites, where your room is the furthest away from the main areas. There is a short walk of about 50 yards, past the church, which is uncovered, to the Walled Garden rooms. Umbrellas are provided at both entrances should the weather be inclement. The grounds are lovely and extensive, so if you walk with a stick you may find that challenging. There is a little train that runs through part of the site. The Golden Fleece is a pub restaurant with very good B&B rooms which have been converted from stone outbuildings, and the standard of the bedrooms is excellent with quality fixtures and fittings. The bed was a king size and ve..."ry comfortable, and the bathroom modern and clean. The towels were thick, large and good quality. As someone has previously said, blackout blinds on the Velux rooflights would have helped cut the early morning light in the room but that is a small issue. We ate as a family group in the restaurant, some dishes better than others but the goats cheese starter and pie main course won praise. Very convivial atmosphere in the dining room with diners and drinkers at the bar. Paul, one of the owners, checked us in to our accommodation and was behind the bar, and he is a very friendly front of house person who made us feel welcome.   "Came to this hotel after skydiving during the say. As i work i hotels took me ages to decide on a hotel which was a good price and excellent (so any over priced now) the price was cheap for what they offer could easily be more and id quite happily pay it too. Was easy to find the location was super!..." Couldn't ask for more is a complete gem to find it!. We have already spoken about returning again soon for longer. The food was excellent quality, and the views are lovely. Luckily we had a lovely day to spend outside :). The rooms were excellent, and the staff were amazing they couldnt of done more made us feel extremely welcome. Thankyou so much or all your help and laying out the table for my boyfriends birthday (even when wasnt asked too) it was a rellay special touch and made our weekend extra special.
