La Palma is a beautiful island and the Las Olas is perfectly situated, the rooms are large, with a balcony, most face the pool and sea, cleaned every day and clean towels left daily also. Did find the kitchen utensils alittle lacking, a kettle would have been nice, but you get by and it's another excuse to eat out! The pool area is lovely, clean and plenty of comfortable sun beds and a bar area. The beach is close by, a short walk on the road or a lovely coastal walk which is a little longer, you can hire sun beds on the beach and there's a great bar and restaurant there as well.   "Just returned from a week in Los Cancajos. Considering what we paid for this holiday (booked through Thomson), it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is in a peaceful location about 10 minutes drive from the airport, basically at the end of the runway! Outgoing planes go overhead - we counted a..."bout 8 per day but they were mainly small propeller planes going to Tenerife, so not intrusive at all. Our apartment was in Tenerife block with a fantastic view of the sea and the pool. Also no steps which was great as we were travelling with a 2 year old. The apartment was spacious (plenty of cot space), beds huge and really comfortable (there were spare pillows and blankets), loads of wardrobe space, nice sofas to lounge on and a basic kitchenette which was fine for us (we are used to holidays in Greece in studios with very spartan facilities!)   "We had a pleasant 10 days stay at the Taburiente Playa in April 2013. We were given a room facing south on the 3rd floor with balcony and a nice view on the swimming pool & the sea. The room was big enough with a big & comfortable bed, enough storing room (and a lot of hangers inside the closet), a..." small round table with 2 chairs inside the room and another table with 2 chairs on the balcony. The bathroom was also big enough with a big mirror and a lot of room to put your stuff on the furniture around the sink. There was a bath with a shower. The furniture inside the room is a bit outdated and some modern features are missing in the bathroom (the dispersion of the water jet leaving the shower head was not adjustable and mixing cold/hot water had to be done manually with the 2 taps) but everything was functional and in good condition.
