  "My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 4th - 11th May. We booked directly with Thomson two weeks before travel and only paid £224 each for a week half board. I had read on here that it was a better option to upgrade to all-inclusive once you arrived at the hotel, which we did for only 19EUROs ..."each per day. In advance of our arrival I had also requested a sea facing rooms, and to our absolute delight this was acknowledged and we were actually allocated a lovely suite. Two English staff on the front desk, Charlotte and Kelli, certainly made communciation easier as our Spanish is very limited. The Golden Taurus Park is now in its 50th year which proves how successful the hotel is. All of the staff work extremely hard to give their guests a most pleasurable stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and we could not fault anything.   "We stayed in the Hotel Merce for 4 days in May 2013. As soon as we arrived, the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. We arrived very late due to airport delays, but we had no problems checking in. The only thing is that there was no food being served in the hotel ..."and all the shops around were closed. But you could buy drinks and snacks from the bar. There was a nominal tax of 50 cents per person per night which I don't remember reading about, but it didn't break the bank. There were 4 adults and one 17 month old, so we got two double rooms. The rooms were relatively spacious although there was a bit of a smell in one of them (didn't realise they still allow smoking indoors in Spain!) But they were very clean and they changed our towels everyday. The bathroom was more than sufficient with a hot shower, although it was too hot one morning and we were told there was a problem with the whole system.   "My husband and I stayed here 11-18 May and thought the hotel was outstanding. We are in our mid forties and had no kids with us. We booked flights, hotel and transfers all separately and then upgraded to all inclusive on arrival. Our room wasn't ready, as we arrived about 1pm, but we were able to..." leave our luggage and go straight for lunch. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and spoke excellent English. We hired a safe for the week and it cost us 30 euros, with 10 returned at the end of the week. We were very impressed with the all-inclusive, as we could have cocktails (complete with feathery parrots, peacocks, etc) branded drinks, including Southern Comfort, Bacardi and Smirnoff and ice cream sandwiches (like Maxibons) and lollies from 10am to 11pm and we could use the main bar, snack bar and both pool bars.
