  "I first visited Lake Five in the summer of 2012. I absolutely fell in love with the lake itself. I am well traveled, especially in the Western United States, and Lake Five has become one of my absolute favorite spots. It is a crystal clear, small to mid-size lake, dotted with private cabiney style h..."omes that are mostly obscured by the trees. I appreciate the absence of gaudy McMansions sitting atop barren tree stripped lots all over. Additionally, some of the homes are rented out as vacation rentals but there are many year round private residents, which creates a respectful, calm, yet fun atmosphere, as opposed to a chaotic-partying-van full of screaming kids- type of atmosphere. The residents I met were very nice. Mountains surround the lake and there are several good places to pull off a canoe and go swimming. We saw heron, black bears, and moose all near the lake.
