Horicon is a fine little town on the edge of the Horicon Marsh, a vast marshland with regional and national significance. We saw our first sandhill cranes here, plus flocks of other waterfowl - the evening sky was filled with birds heading back to the marsh to rest. The marsh is solemn and quiet in the winter, lovely in the snow, with good hiking/snowshoeing opportunities. The small towns in the region are charming and great for dining and antique hunting. The home is gorgeous, immaculate, elegant, relaxing, welcoming and yet we felt at home. Our room was so cozy and romantic we didn't want to check out after our 3 day stay. Everything was perfect down to the smallest details. The breakfast was so yummy, even the chilled glasses and Anniversary plates were a special touch. I personally loved the coffee maker in the hallway with so many choices of flavors... I was like a kid in a candy store.
