  "Stayed for 2 nights in June 2013 in a travel trailer. We were touring the NW and wanted a place to stay while enjoying the Columbia River area. We read numerous complaints about the train noise at several different campgrounds, and - using Trip Advisor - settled on Timberlake as our destination. ..."The campground is very lush and thick woods. This adds a lot of privacy between sites. I enjoyed the layout of the facility and the trails throughout the property. The owner and his staff were very attentive when we arrived, and friendly throughout our stay. It was obvious they are committed to their business. Since the issue of the train noise is such I big topic relating to camps in this area, I feel compelled to say Timberlake is far enough away to mute much of this. The trains are audible, but I would be surprised if someone was awakened by such noise. We were not. The property was very well maintained and clean and I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend Timberlake ... " More >

  "February 2013 was our third winter visit to Skamania Lodge. It was good as always except the outdoor hot tub was closed for some kind of construction work. This was disappointing because the hot tub is really nice in the cold-ish evenings. They are constructing a zip course that looks interesting, h..."igh in the trees. Winter is a great time to visit this lodge. The mist is over the Columbia River in the mornings, the restaurant is quite empty, you can actually get a seat in the main lodge room, and the giant fireplace is going all day.
