I wouldn't recommend this hotel as an option if you were looking for something close to the beach as it's about 30-40 minutes with traffic to the beaches in Hilton Head. I would much rather spend the rather high prices for a one-night stay here than for a three or four night stay at your typical upscale resort. The only thing that could use some help is the cuisine. By far, their casual dining restaurant, Buffaloes, is the best of the three dining experiences. The Canoe Club was just fine. The reso..."rt is part of a larger development of beautiful homes and a small, tasteful but contrived town. They provide bicycles to explore the property which we really enjoyed doing. Our cottage was beautiful but did have some minor issues with dated and not functioning audio equipment. In an effort to go green the resort has no written materials or maps in the rooms and you are supposed to use an iPad to get oriented to the services, dining, activities, which I found annoying. The dining was excellent with really good menus in all locales and well prepared food and good service. I found the staff to be mostly excellent but several stood out as being less engaged with the guests. " More >
