From the moment we arrived and had help with our luggage (without requesting it, we were just noticed arriving!) to the minute we left with a super fast checkout...", the staff were friendly and efficient, the management smiling and attentive to detail. The breakfasts were first class, lovely fresh fruit, good choice of cooked items all delicious. The room was well equipped, clean and the bed very comfortable. Great bathroom too. As for the wedding well all I can say is that, if you live in this area and you are looking for a function venue then use Westlakes. Everything I have already said above but multiplied by 65 guests, a complete bridal party and not great weather. The whole reception was wonderful and the hosts missed NOTHING! Food was superb.. Although the weather was not the best, once back at the hotel for the reception we did not notice at al..."l as the facilities at Westlakes were comfortable and relaxing. As for the food, it was excellent. Everything was perfectly cooked. No-one I spoke to was disappointed with either the meal that they had at the wedding (fresh perfectly cooked vegetables, fish & meat and tasty desserts) or for those of us that stayed there, the breakfast. We were also welcomed with tea and coffee in the lounge where they made sure we had everything we needed. I am not sure how long Geoff and Debra have been holding wedding functions but they have certainly perfected the service that they offer for weddings, hotel stays and quality food.   "During the wedding dinner the children in our party were practising spinning plates (plastic ones) on sticks. I noticed that Debra had a go - she wasn't very good at it. I did not think that this fault though deserved knocking the 5 star rating from the hotel. There was nothing else to fault. Fro..."m the welcome on arrival, the friendly chat in the bar, the clean comfortable rooms, the hot well cooked breakfast, the wedding reception itself to the cheery cheerio when we left you could only describe it as first class. In fact as one who does attend quite a number of wedding receptions I have to say that the food and service (spinning plates aside) was the best I have ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, everything was done with a smile and a professional manner. This is one venue I would have no problem recommending to everyone. " More >
