You still get the beautiful beach, the superb weather and the nice grounds but you don't have thousands of staff waiting to look after your every need. Frankly, a holiday such as this is one where you really do not need lots of staff. The beach is well-appointed with loungers and parasols, the pools are clean and the spa, etc, is very nice. Food is a problem to the extent that the themed nights are themed but the food is the same as the previous evening. However, if you simply go and pick what you would like for your starter, main course, etc, the food is of good quality and you just have to invent your own themes. The Mauritian staff are helpful... We arrived at the airport around 6am and were quickly through to get on the transport provided by BA. We were met by smiley and polite staff who sat us down with a cold drink and a very refreshing cold flannel.
