We visited..." in April when you ring the bell someone shows up at the front desk within a few minutes. Rooms are well furnished and comfortable. The Institute is 2 miles away, there are 2 restaurants you can walk to, one with white tablecloths and one kind of "Mom's Diner" type with home cooking. Hotel wi-fi worked well, and there is a guest computer in the lobby, .Upstairs is an exercise room. Continental breakfast is enough to get you started, like coffee and a donut to tide you over. Other reviewers have said the place is run down, which is an overstatement IMHO. It is a big expensive place to keep up and they are doing fairly well.   "My husband thoroughly enjoyed being greeted with freshly baked cookies on our arrival. What lovely accomodations! This was our second stay and when in the area we would certainly not hesitate to stay again.....and again. The proprietors are a lovely couple, Mary is bubbly and a joy, Bert is more ..."reserved but a gracious host. The grounds looked perfect, spring was in full bloom. Our last stay was in the winter. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh ingredients and local goodies including coffee that is roasted locally and packaged as a Plumbush blend, very nice!! There is a large barn that we were told hosts weddings, what a beautiful idea, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Plumbush! My husband wants me to be sure to mention how incredibly comfortable the bed was. We have stayed in other places and the mattress was miserable, this rates as the best hotel/B&B bed we have ever slept on. " More >

  "We came up a couple of days early for a wedding. This is the off season so there was not much to do but on the plus side we were not charged to drive on the Chautauqua grounds. The full service was great except the restaurant was closed at lunch on Saturday. We made do with food from Dollar General ..."next door and the microwave in the lobby. The staff was nice and the room was very clean. We stayed in an handicapped room and the only odd thing was the toilet was a standard height. Not a problem for us but unexpected. A nice stay. " More >
