"We stayed here for 2 nights in early November...road trip with dog so needed "pet friendly" place. Bear Creek Cabins is rustic as other reviewers have mentioned, but was PERFECT for us. Trails to go on short dog walks, hikes right outside our door, very short drive to BEAUTIFUL hiking trails in t..."he Gila Nat'l Forest. Longer but gorgeous drive to Gila Cliff Dwellings (amazing place).
We stayed in Cabin #12. its the last cabin, view from both porches nothing but trees, birds, very private. Barbeque grill on porch...fully stocked (tiny) kitchen, so we grilled steaks, ate there (this was a treat, as we eat out WAY too much at home).
Bed was extremely comfortable, internet connection not good, so don't count on it working, very steep, carpeted stairs up to bedroom on 2nd floor, bathroom on 1st floor, so a flashlight is nice for middle of night bathroom runs.
All in all a great place. Daniel even lent us a baby gate to keep the dog on the porch.

"Me and my wife stayed on the night of December 17 for our anniversary. Check in was easy and the staff was very helpful in giving advice on the area. They also booked dinner reservations for us to eat at the nearby Buckhorn Saloon, which has very delicious food and great historical decor. We st..."ayed in cabin B, which is 2 story with a large porch on the first floor and a nice balcony on the 2nd. Even though it was cold, we relaxed on the balcony and observed several deer across the road. The rest of the cabin was nice and cozy, with great decor. It was cleaner than I expected for a cabin. The wood fireplace was nice to relax by. The next morning, we checked out and drove up to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. The drive up is a beautiful enough site to see. Would recommend it to anyone.

"Recently we made a quick Springtime trek to southwestern New Mexico and visited the Silver City area. After a day of play at City of Rocks State Park, we wound our way to the tiny historic town of Pinos Altos (that sits conveniently between Silver City and the Gila Cliff Dwellings).
We over-ni..."ghted at the pet-friendly Bear Creek Motel & Cabins. We were absolutely THRILLED with the accommodations! First stop.....friendly welcome from Daniel at the Office. He filled us in on the local area as well as pet friendly advice. We thoroughly LOVED our cabin that looked like a fairy tale tree-top chalet! It's steeply sloped roofs complimented the 2-story wood/stone cabin. Very dreamy mountain cabin! Leading up to the cabin were winding stone paths with hand-cut, bent-wood rails along the steps. Each cabin is set slope-side in this beautiful mountain-y setting where you hear the wind rustling the pine trees and birds coming to visit the cabin at one of the numerous bird houses scatte...
