  "My husband and I spent a couple days at the Cherry Tree Inn in mid-may to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This was our first visit to the Traverse City area. We stayed here based on trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and encountered..." friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay. Even when we were on the elevator with staff members they were friendly and asked us how we were enjoying our stay. The hotel itself is top notch. We stayed in a Leelanau suite which was right on the bay with a wrap around balcony. We were fortunate to have awesome weather while visiting and were able to spend a lot of time on the balcony. The sunsets were spectacular. The suite had many windows to enjoy the beautiful views. The suite itself was very spacious and nicely decorated.   "This hotel doesn't look like much on the outside, but on the inside it is clean, comfortable & inviting. It is very close to some wonderful restaurants in the area as well as wine shops & casinos. My husband is from Michigan & we were married a few months ago, so this was our belated "honeymoon". We..." checked in with a young man at the desk & he said he had a 2 bed room for us. I asked him if he had a king bed & he said he did. Upon further checking, he said we booked through Hotels.com so he couldn't give us a king bed. We told him we would be happy to pay for the upgrade & he said his General Manager is the only person who can do this & he was in Las Vegas. We asked him if he could call another manager & he said "no." By now he is getting a bit short & frustrated with us so we dropped it.
