Each room is exquisitely and uniquely decorated to its geographic or historic theme. The lobby, dining rooms, and other common areas are decorated with very nice, specially-commissioned, paintings and sculptures. The restaurant offers excellent breakfasts and nice, though somewhat pricey, dinners. The only minor complaint is that recently the hotel has been slow to maintain the facility: some minor wear-and-tear issues in the rooms, and the spa was broken the last time we were there.   "Unbelievable Treasure on the Prairie"
  "My wife and I spent the weekend with a group of friends and we were absolutely blown away by this 40 room (each room decorated in a different theme) hotel in a town of around 7,000. From the minute you enter the hotel you know you are in for a treat. We have stayed at many hotels all over the U.S. a..."nd abroad and this is one of our all time favorites. We stayed n the Italian room and it was great. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was huge and the decorating was great.We plan a return trip later this year, we liked it so much. Apparently a former town resident returned and restored this gem, spending from 10-12 million dollars and it shows. There has to be at least a million dollars in art work thoughout the hotel and rooms. The hotel restaurant offers good food at a reasonable price and again, the artwork has to be seen including the hand painted leather "murals" surrounding the booths.   "We've stayed at this motel several times in order to attend a camera club consortium at the nearby state park. Each year there have been improvements in the motel, and the constant is the warm welcome ambiance provided by the manager. Though not luxurious, the motel is spotless and comfortable. "
