We then added three boys, ages kindergarten to middle school to the mix (the cabin also has a loft for the oldest kid). This is the perfect place for retired people who don't jet ski, golf, go parasailing but just want a comfortable and convenient base of operations for jaunts out and about Florida. This was very helpful in making reservations this time. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in t..."he 'newer' part of the building (Room #52) on the second floor and it was a non-smoking room. I know that some people will cheat, but this room had no smell from any previous 'smoking cheaters' - this was a boon to my youngest that has breathing problems. I appreciate that we were provided a room that was free of any odors. The room had two twin beds, large bathroom (large shower only), and a balcony off the back of the room. Also in the room was a refrigerator, coffee pot and a microwave. Another point, ask for a hair dryer for your room. Great location, solidly built with great architectural features (soaring stone fireplace) , interesting house with a history (built in early 1900's), and night sounds off the lake which could put you in the Amazon with a little imagination. If ..."you don't stay at B&B's as a rule (that's me) then make doubly sure you add this as an option . If you are thinking of staying in Inverness, skip the warm reviews for Central Motel (which I sampled) - pay less...and enjoy more. Tho I did not have the pleasure of meeting Cathy on my first visit, her spirit is everywhere - but but I did meet her husbad, Dave, with who I had the sort of conversation you have with old friends you have not seen for 20+ years.
