  "My wife, two teenage sons, and I stayed at Rancho Bernardo for 2 nights before and after visiting Yosemite at the end of August. I couldn't have selected a better place to stay. The vast open space, the stars, the peacefulness, was exactly what we needed after a long flight from the east coast. The ..."guest house was private, nicely decorated, and very spacious. But the best part of the stay was spending our free time at the ranch with Kathleen and Barney. They are such accommodating hosts and will do whatever they can to help you enjoy your vacation. Breakfast is terrific especially since your hosts dine with you and share wonderful stories about their life. Our kids will always remember the ranch, particularly feeding the animals with Barney!   "BEAUTIFUL THROUGHOUT!!!"
  "As we wound down the Old Highway I felt as if we were on our way to Heaven. And when we arrived at the beautiful home of Cathleen and Barney I knew that this WAS their heaven. Such beautiful people in the most awesome surroundings possible. We stayed in the Guest House with it's own balcony where ..."I sat out watching the sun go down and then stayed to see the glorious array of stars which are not visible in most places because of light pollution. I breathed in the super clean air and listened to the call of night birds and some sounds that I didn't recognize but enjoyed. The next morning I walked down to the barn and petted Freckles, the horse, and sneaked her a little handful of bright green alfalfa hay, which she nosed me for my "generosity." Little Cottontails hopped around in front of me and birds circled my head as if to scold be for interrupting their morning.
