This time, however, we struck gold when we found The Elms. Located off the main street, this is a 1940's motel that has been updated and perfe..."ctly maintained. The manager told us that generations of families have returned here since the 40's. Rather than a row of little rooms, The Elms feels like a small village, that includes mostly duplexes. There's also a large grassy area with tables and chairs. Plus, there's even shade under an elm tree. I recommend units 14,15 and 19. The breakfast is nothing special.   "The hotel staff is a mix depending on the person you have at the desk. The second person was helpful and courteous, the first - very friendly but not very helpful. Our room was large (two queen beds), a great view of the lovely park next door, and very clean. The room was quiet and offered the us..."ual amenities. The breakfast was the general yogurt, toast, etc., no waffles though. The location is great, right in the center of town so one could walk almost anywhere. The entrance is at a right angle to the street so we missed it the first time by, but it is easily accessible and plenty of parking. A good fit for a short stay in Bishop. " More >
