  "Whilst FaFa Island Resort is a mere 30 minutes by boat to the Tonga mainland it is so different it could be in the Caribbean or Mediterranean. The day we arrived in the Kingdom of Tonga the weather was rough and the boat trip out to FaFa was an experience of its own. Once safely on the Island we wer..."e greeted by the very friendly staff and shown to our fale that was very clean and tidy. The outside bathroom was great. There is very little to do on FaFa apart from swimming, laying around on the beach, eating, drinking and sleeping. What a great place to take TIME OUT and let the world go by. The food was average/good, a little expensive for the quality. Being on an Island you have to expect to pay more as it is a captured market. We found the service was great and the staff were friendly. We had five days on the Island and for us that was just right - started to go stir crazy and needed more adventure. " More >

I agree with the last review, don't listen to the negative reviews....we would be extremely hard pressed and very picky to find anything to complain about. Beautiful gardens, priv..."ate spacious falas winding down a path to a beautiful beach. Attention to detail was impeccable, snorkling was awesome and food yummy. We are farmers and were looking for somewhere were we could relax and recharge and we couldn't have made a better choice. We spent four nights here and the ambiance they have created is one of natural luxury and pure relaxation. Claudia the Manager and her team are wonderful people and nothing was a problem. We have travelled a fair bit and we have to say that the stay at Fafa would certainly be the best holiday we have ever had!!! A++++++++ " More >

  "First off, if I were you I would completely disregard the reviews below that whine about children and microwaved food. They are ridiculous and blight a resort that really does deserve an incredible amount of praise. We spent four nights at Fafa, three "official" nights, and one "almost" night sin..."ce we opted for a late checkout of 12AM as our flight was 2:45AM. The weather was bad for the first two and a half days of our time there. Although it wasn't raining a lot, there were very strong winds. We had no problems with our transfer on the first day, even though it was windy the larger sailboat really managed to keep us stable and nausea-free. The accommodation is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. The chairs look uncomfortable but boy are they nice to sit on! Beds come with mosquito nets.
