This is made up for by a nice, partly shaded, open air communal area on the first floor, where you can sit down with a drink and a smoke as well as use the free wifi service (when it works, the connection was quite unstable at times). Breakfast is also served in this area, and tables are laid out with a nice variety of foods, juice and coffee, complimentent by freshly prepapred eggs prepared to your liking. The location is very central, just a few minutes walk from the main square, and across the street from two small convenience stores that will also exchange foreign currency at decent rates. The hotel is a converted medressa which is lovely, however...my husband & I encountered problems with the room we were put in (213 & upstairs) which has windows facing the front of the building & the lane/walkway in front. The domestic property..." across from the hotel has 2 dogs which bark loudly at all hours of day/night (I was woken at 2:30am one morning) + an early morning market is conducted at the rear of the hotel so, whether you like it or not, you are woken by people talking at 5:30am. The staff at the hotel are aware of the problem but they do not warn the guests of this - I thought this was inconsiderate, given that I had booked for 3 nights. Wifi was supposed to be available but reception tended to be fickle so it would often drop out in the middle of my being on the internet or just be unavailable altogether - most annoying.
