  "The term "business hotel" has a different connotation in the US than in Japan. Whereas we think of Hilton and Marriott, the Japanese think of spartan Motel 6 like accomodations. The New Castle is more like a Hilton, with large rooms by Japanese standards and all western style amenities. As others ha..."ve said, it is very convenient to the train station and to the Fukuyama castle. It is an older hotel, but well kept. Being able to speak a little Japanese helps, as there are really no places in Fukuyama where English is regularly spoken. The prices for accomodations and the buffet breakfast and dinner are reasonable. The 24 hour convenience store next door is handy. Taxis are always lined up and waiting. I highly recommend this hotel for western visitors. " More >

  "Enjoyed the traditional and western breakfast offerings. Room was clean, staff was excellent and location to train station, resturants and my business customer were outstanding. The only negative was no dresser for placing clothing. Living out of a suitcase for six days was somewhat tedious."

  "We stayed there during the golden week. Location was soso - about 1km on foot from the Fukuyama station (lots of shops, restaurants on the way). Staff was very friendly and understood English quite well. The spa on the top floor (open all night :)) allows a great view all over the city."
