  "We stayed here for two nights in room 25. The lady who greeted us at the front desk was very nice. She gave us a good recommendation on a restaurant for the evening and was quick to loan us a couple of plastic disks to use as slides at the dunes. The motel has a 1950's kind of vibe. The only dust was a rather thick layer on top of the A/C unit and bathroom vanity light which are both mounted high on the wall and likely beyond the reach of the housekeeping staff. The bathroom was straight out of the 50's. There were no electrical outlets in the room and no ventilation fan. Fortunately the bathroom window wasn't painted shut. There was a small refrigerator in the room and free wi-fi access. Continental breakfast was available in lobby There were about 5 stools and a coffeemaker on a counter.   "We were so pleasantly surprised by the comfort of this renovated old motel. Cheerfully painted soft yellow with bright blue doors, everything was in perfect shape. Our 2-bed room had a fridge and a microwave, good TV, nice small bathroom. The breakfast was more than continental---cereal, bananas,..." yogurt, juice, coffee, pastries. The owners were so nice, have owned the place for 30 years. And the low price was a wonderful surprise! Great place to stay if visiting White Sands.   "We only stayed here one night after going to white sands. It was great! The lobby was nice and welcoming. Our room was clean and lovely. The king bed was big and comfy (but only had 3 pillows instead of 4). The free breakfast was quite big with make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, danish, hard boi..."led eggs, coffee etc. I would definitely stay here again. It's about an hour drive from white sands and about a 3 hour drive to Carlsbad caverns. " More >
