I was with friends, but I had a single room which was perfect for my needs – a bed, table and wardrobe. The bathroom was across the hall – one shower between around 8 people so you needed to form a plan of attack, but everyone gets their turn. It was very warm at night so no need to worry about being cold. There is a kitchen for you to cook in and store your food if you so wish. If you’re vegetarian the dining out options are very limited so you might want to bring some food from home to cook there. There are organised trips if you want them or you can explore on your own although I would definitely recommend the Ice Cap, Russell Glacier and dog sledding excursions. There is not much ...   "As others have noted, this is a lodge/hostel/B&B-type of setting, not a real hotel as such. However, we found it to be excellent in terms of cleanliness, warmth, and very well looked after. Mind you, we stayed here for one night after camping on the tundra for three weeks, so we were also just happy..." to be back in civilization and have a hot shower after bathing in glacial lakes! The lodge is just a short walk from the airport terminal along a boardwalk, so just a quick walk back to the terminal for food in the cafeteria, where it seems everyone congregates to chat. The lodge is owned/operated by a local business person who also runs the tour buses out to the Big Ice (a must see). Very accommodating and friendly staff that were very helpful. You don't have to worry about airport noise, as there are ony a few flights in or out of the airport during the day. " More >
