Perhaps given the hotel's monopoly - it is the only hotel on site or within 30 minutes of Machu Picchu - the prices for the room and food are excessive. But the service is great, the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, the food outstanding...", and again you can't beat the location. The jacuzzi is only open for a few hours a day so we weren't able to use it. Overall, we had a great stay and the location unquestionably enhanced our ability to maximize our visit to the site.   "Visited Machu Picchu and stayed at Sanctuary Lodge 27th May 2013 room 29. If you go there staying at the lodge is a must. Excellent value. Staff were terrific and went out of their way to help. All inclusive. The meals were top class , 5 star +. Before 4pm we went back into Machu Picchu to see sun..." set ,we where 2 of 15 people to see it set , an awesome sight , not too be missed . After sunset ,spent night being entertained , pre dinner drinks, having a 3 course meal & a few wines, beds extremely comfortable . After checking out at 11am , we visited Machu Picchu again our 3rd visit to walk to the sun gate , which over looks all of Machu ,a must do walk ,beautiful site too behold.. On our return we used the Day Room to have a shower and get refreshed for trip back to Cusco. Reception organised our return bus and we received priority boarding.
