  "My client chose this hotel, owned by Hainan Airlines. Recently refurbished I was booked into a deluxe suite. Two rooms, 1.5 bathrooms! All the expected amenities including two flat screen TVs. The only complaint is the spotty Internet service and the need to retrieve a new password every 48 hours. T..."he buffet breakfast was extensive, and I found plenty of choices. I did dine in one of the hotel restaurants, not to be repeated. Food was just ok. This is not a western hotel, so if you need to be in an environment with other Americans or use a concierge or have many questions choose another option. The Hotel its pretty chic, the decoration its modern and bizarre, The room is ok I don't understand it very well, Im an architect and I think furniture location is not functional, neither the bathroom distribution because it has a huge sink and a little s..."pace to place your personal stuff. The materials of the bathroom are not good quality so the ceramic is falling, the sink is over wood and its not in a good condition, the shower has fungus and the water temperature its really hard to set. The room its big, dark and its not natural aired so has a smoking smell everywhere, even towels. One good thing about this hotel is the restaurant, breakfast is good and We saw it has a cool bar by night! It is within walking distance of the Forbidden City (about 15-20 minutes), a large shopping mall, and just down the block is a very large bookstore that carries books in English. The rooms are nice and there is free Wi-fi in the lobby. In the ev..."ening in a plaza between the hotel and the mall people gather to line dance. It's fun to watch and join in! On the top floor of the mall is a food court where I had a very good Chinese meal for $6 (there are restaurants in the mall but the less expensive food is in the food court). For a nice day take a taxi to the Hutong area by the lakes and spend some time exploring (I used the recommended walking tour in Frommers). You can meander back to the hotel (takes between 1-2 hours to walk back depending on how fast you walk and how much meandering you do).
