Raven is a warm and considerate hostess, and Mark is a great guy to talk story with, knowledgable about all things local and many things global. They helped guide us to local surf beaches, hot springs, and food stops. A pre-sunrise hour-long hike took us out to fresh flowing lava, which was very exciting. The Hawaiian suite was clean and very adequate for all 4 of us. The outdoor bathroom was a nice touch, and aside from one cold shower the hot water was plentiful for everyone else's showers and handwashing. There is an indoor bathroom option also. The coffee and breakfast were great. Even though it rained about half the time we were there, it was very comfortable and enjoyable. ... " More >

The house is nestled in a jungle of beautiful ferns, palm trees and flowers. You will see, hear and smell God's beautiful creation at this B and B. We stayed in the ..."private Hawaiian suite with the outdoor bathroom. (There is an option to you the indoor one, but why would you when it is so beautiful outside? Besides, we "go" indoors at home, this is a vacation!) The bed is very comfortable with soft sheets, a down comforter and a beautiful netting about it. The room iis largely screened and gives you even more nature experience. You will hear it! (but we thought this was a fun, extra perk!) The room is decorated with many interesting items that Raven has collected over the years. Looking at everything in the room is in itself an experience to remember.
