  "Holiday Inn is a decent hotel. New building, located quite centrally. The staff were very nice, the room rather small, but still comfortable, with a big, comfortable bed, very quiet. In the bathroom design won over practicality, as it often happens nowadays, but fancy fittings worked well. I can on..."ly complain that nobody bothered to dry them after cleaning and instead of shiny, they were covered with stains, which was not exactly dirty, but gave bad impression. 60 seconds with a dry cloth could make them look perfect. A more serious drawback was lack of wifi in the room; it was available in the lobby, I was informed, but in the room internet connection could only be got via a cable, not a viable option for a smartphone, even if complimentary. The breakfast was good enough, but for a single traveler rather pricey. The hotel has this strange policy of “breakfast for up to 2 persons staying in the same room – 60 PLN”, which makes it quite reasonable if you are two, but too expensive if ... " More >

  "The City Hotel was a comfortable place to spend a couple of nights in Poland. The reception was warm and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable though it tended to the utilitarian. Everything in the room worked as it should and the bed was quite comfortable. Downstairs, in the lobby bar, ..."the offerings were good, but you had to work at it to get service, especially after the first drink. The breakfast buffet was quite extensive, with typical continental offerings and many typical polish breakfast items. At night, the restaurant was quite good, with very good service and a fairly wide assortment of dishes. The pork loin I had was a bit overcooked and tough, but the other dishes, wine and atmosphere were good. The location is very nice, within about 3 blocks of the river and 5 blocks of the "old Town" which has several good restaurants and a nicely developed park. " More >
