Having the full kitchen can save you some money as things are expensive in Big Sur. Bathroom is small, especially the shower stall (square shape) - my husband is 6 ft tall, when he duck to put his head under the shower head, he knocked things over, but that's really minor - you are not there for the shower experience. =) I did love that the shower as has good pressure and get hot fast, the 'roof' for the shower is clear - you the trees and sky looking up.   "This camp site has incredible views and a calm chill atmosphere. Watching the sunset over the pacific from your campsite is something that can't be beat. The sites were set up well with picnic table, fire ring with grill, and flat spots for your tent. What I really loved was the little trail you ..."could hike down to a rocky beach and watch the waves crash in. You pass some tiny waterfalls on your way down. I didn't have any poison oak issues like I see mentioned here. Restrooms were clean and they have fireword available for purchase there. The host that stopped through while I was there was very friendly and personable. Dog friendly too which is a plus, got to bring my 3 month old puppy on her first camping experience! " More >

  "Big Sur is beautiful, and for someone who lives on the Central Coast (about an hour and a half, two hours south) Plaskett Creek is a great way to experience Big Sur camping without having to drive for days and days. The setting is gorgeous, you have the campground set in the pines with both sun and ..."shade and there is grass everywhere. Across the main road you will find walking trails out on the bluffs, as well as many trails that lead down to sand dollar beach. The beach itself is great for surfing, laying out, playing around, whatever you want - it's RIGHT next to your campsite! The people all seemed friendly and quiet, and we had no trouble with critters. I would highly recommend this campground as it's really laid back and kinda off the "Big Sur" camping experience radar. " More >
