  "The hostel is shut for some repairs. The info desk at the train station directed us to the souvenir shop as the staff there run the hostel. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a much better location, view and facilies. We had one room, and two French guys had upstairs. The apartment was lovely..." with a wood burning stove for heat in the lounge, fully equipped kitchen (except a kettle, but we didnt see a kettle anywhere in Norway only coffee makers), washing machine and comfy beds. The view from the balcony was great. It was great value for money. Very quiet. We were a bit upset we werent told beforehand that the hostel was closed but the staff looked quite stressed about the situation. However on reflection we good a great deal. " More >

  "Coming in to Flåm, checking in at Heimly, we could just enjoy the marvellous view of the mountains and the fjord. We had a room with a fjord view (recommended). The room was not big, and had to single beds, but we were there just to sleep overnight, and as we were lucky with a nice warm weather, thi..."s was just what we needed. They had no restaurant with dinner, but a close walk to Flåm made that no problem. Waking up in the morning, we could enjoy the view over the fjord with two big cruiseships anchored, and lots of small tender boats bringing passengers to the centre. " More >
