Ruhpolding is in between season in early May, and if the weather is good, this is a very good time to visit, as the town is not overrun with tourists. I had a single room which was comfortable and has a new, or relatively new en suite, (no bath) and overlooked part of the main street, but was not noisy. The larger rooms are more plush. There is a car park behind the hotel. The garden and verandah to the side of the hotel is very pleasant for a few leisurely drinks in the sun or the shade, depending on your preference.
