  "This was our fourth visit to the Hillside, and everything is as perfectly pristine as on our first visit. Ho Gerd manages to maintain everything like this is a mystery! The conversion of the "stables" has been completed (although we didn't have a chance to see it) and now houses a two-bedroom suite which would be ideal for a family of four. We did get a tour of the newly converted apartment above Gerd's Bistro Restaurant in the High Street and it is breathtaking. Furnished as perfectly as the main hotel, this is a two-bedroom apartment which is available for weekly rent - the lounge is magnificent with a high ceiling and wonderful furniture, and there is an excellent deck-patio. The access is via an unprepossessing door and along an alleyway which doubtless will be refurbished sometime ... and it needs to be ... but the location is ideal ... " More >

My room could have been larger, but it was well decorated and reasonally well fu..."rnished for the size, with a very comfortable double bed. There was a flat screen TV on the wall. The large modern bathroom was spotlessly clean. Food was superb - we had arranged a 3-course evening meal with coffee each night. A good choice of food, well served and piping hot. Breakfasts did not disappoint either, with a great choice of hot and cold food. All staff were very pleasant and could not have been more helpful. I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel.
